For this upcoming project I plan to create a narrative about a young man named Johnathan who grew up during the mid-20th century, an era encompassed of many historically significant events regarding our nation's history. He is drafted into the Vietnam War and encounters many conflicts during wartime that he will have to overcome. This idea was inspired from the previous project's work of fiction, Forrest Gump, and is based on a similar time period covered by the film. This narrative will consist of the text-based mode incorporating narrative and informative genre conventions in order to create a fictional short story portraying the life of the young man throughout the era. The text-based mode will allow the viewers of the narrative to perceive and imagine the eventful life of this character extensively. This narrative will cater to a wide range of audiences such as adolescents who find the historical elements of the mid-rather 20th century interesting. The tools and skills necessary for assembling this project are history books, peer-reviewed journals, online databases, and the film Forrest Gump which will serve as a guide for the creation of my fictional narrative. Furthermore, to promote my narrative, I plan to create an online flyer utilizing the Microsoft application "Publisher" in order to advertise the story and plan to create a depiction of the narrative's main character illustrating the time period he grew up in to attract an eager audience. To reach this project's audience, I plan to create an Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook page to spark up interest and gather potential viewer attention. In order to successfully complete this project, I must familiarize myself with technological applications such as the ones listed above and dedicate more time to plan and develop the necessary components that this project demands.
